We love fish!

Someone said " where is the fish, if you have a freezer stocked with chicken, goose, rabbit and pig?" The answer is we eat more fish than meat and it never stays long in the freezer.
In the North East of England in our youth we used to go and get the fish directly from the boats
"When the boat comes in" ( remember that programme?) I wish the coast was just a bit nearer so we could still do that.
When the Boat Comes In is a British television period-drama produced by the BBCbetween 1976 and 1981.
The series stars James Bolam as Jack Ford, a First World War veteran who returns to his poverty-stricken (fictional) town of Gallowshield in the North East of England in the 1920s and 30s.
