When we are out walking the dogs and we meet people with other dogs, I always say, " n'inquietez pas, ils sont gentils," followed by "ils aboient c' est tout"
Now when I sound the "t" as I have been doing people look at the dogs and sure enough old chap Twister limps. So a bit of confusion where walkers, are thinking, why is she telling me her dog limps?
The verb for limp is boiter.
It is all very confusing this French language but I keep trying.
In English I am of course saying, " don't worry, the dogs are ok they won't attack although they might bark."
