I think I have the twin sister

I have just seen your message on TAG about the dog who has adopted you! ( Linda says to Vicki)

Whereabouts are you? I am near Le Riols (just over the river from Varen/Lexos) and I could swear we have Buddy's sister! She is a Griffon Bleu de Gascogne and arrived in our gardem between Christmas and New Year then decided she quite liked it here and stayed!!
In addition to all the enquiries that you have made, I have also contacted the SPA in Carmaux who keep a list of dogs reported lost in the Tarn. If you are in Tarn et Garonne it will be the Montauban SPA. Both our adoptees must be abandoned hunt dogs. But still worth checking with a vet to see if Buddy is microchipped.

Ours arrived looking like an old dog, her tail was tucked so far under her belly, but now she happily plays with my young dog and is obviously a youngster herself. It's lovely to see her with her tail held high following us on walks. But, unlike Buddy, she is very nervous. She has gained massively in confidence over the last few weeks to the point where she will now come and take food from our (very outstretched!) hands, but she still draws the line at being touched, presumably as she has had some pretty bad experiences of 'human' touch in the past.

It's a shame and I would hate to part with her, but like you we can't really keep another dog....the expense of the vet's fees and the difficulty of getting someone to look after her when we go away, so if you hear of anyone who would have given Buddy a good home but wanted a female, please do give me a call or drop me a line.

Good luck with Buddy! What a coincidence! ( Or has the word got out among the dog population. ....'' Hey guys, if you want a new home have a wander around until you hear someone speaking English. Lurk in their bushes for a day or so and you'll be on the sofa in no time!'' )

Val says Linda has kindly been waiting till Fanfaron was adopted but now with Buddy getting his chance,  it is time to mention her Budilena. Vicki who found Buddy lives on the way to Rodez and the dog is not chipped. They never are, just thrown out if they cannot hunt or nearing the end of season. I will repeat these dogs make wonderful pets and are very loving.
