François Hollande doit annoncer vendredi le transfert au Panthéon des cendres de deux hommes et deux femmes illustres, dont Germaine Tillion et Jean Zay, lors de l'hommage qu'il rendra au Mont-Valérien (Hauts-de-Seine) aux héros de la Résistance.
Le chef de l'Etat va "panthéoniser" quatre grandes figures de la Seconde guerre mondiale: Germaine Tillion, ethnologue et résistante, Geneviève de Gaulle-Anthonioz, ancienne présidente de ATD quart Monde, nièce du général de Gaulle qui fut déportée, le journaliste résistant Pierre Brossolette et Jean Zay, homme politique assassiné en juin 1944 par des miliciens, auquel François Hollande avait rendu hommage le jour de son investiture à la présidence.
Val says TAG has covered this story before, the need for more women to be laid to rest in that respected position in the Panthéon. Hollande has now decided to transfer "des cendres" ( the ashes) of two women and another two men. The women Germaine Tillion and Geneviève de Gaulle are heroes of the Resistance in the second World War.
Val says again I wonder if the women were buried, if they will dig up the bodies and cremate to get the ashes? I suppose they must.
