Malc thinks the idea is a bit ''Dordogneshire'' but I do not see why picking up on good fun things in England should not be shared here [ even if ALL those Brits in the Dordogne have already gone down this route] I am amazed the French who love their potagers have not already got the most amazing fruit and flower shows. I know here in Varen we have prizes for the best gardens. Did you have a show in your town or village in England and do you have anything resembling a show here in France? let TAG know.
Val says have just googled plant, flower, vegetable shows in the Dordogne but although they have the Spring selling flowers and vegs shows we have, cannot see that they hold a flower or vegetable show. Debbie from Jardin des Espiemonts had talked about a show arranged with FIFI at some point but it would be great to get everybody involved, not just gardeners, but artists ( best local picture) best honey, best fruit cake, best sponge cake, best dog, BEST donkeys, mine would have to win that! It would need a committee with the French involved. If you have the time think about it, what a great local event it could be. The show could go on all day or over a weekend and food sellers could come to the site. You would need judges and people to help. Come on someone give it some thought.
