Spring poems

You know I love poetry by now, and I am dashing off to a group soon where we are reading " poems of spring"
Malc suggested quite seriously I had missed one of the best Spring poems from my list and followed this by standing and quoting these lines from some bard  "or other"
" Spring is sprung,
The grass is ris
I wonder where the birdies is.
the birdies is, on the wing,
but that' s absurd, but that' s absurd
I always thought the wing was on the bird!"
We laughed even more when I transposed donkeys for birds!
Punctuation as always added later when I have more time!

Val says Terri Lumb gives us the real version
The Budding Bronx
Der spring is sprung
Der grass is riz
I wonder where dem boidies is?
Da liddle boids are on da wing
Ain't dat absoid?
Der liddle wings is on da boid!
