We have been without electricity most of the day, us and our immediate neighbours. It started with power cuts every five minutes this morning, no electricity over lunch and after a quick blip nothing all afternoon. My ipad has been getting deprivation syndrome, bad enough no BBC but no TV at all. No phone, and now we see friends have sent messages saying they have been trying to contact us all day.
I have a freezer stocked with chicken, goose, rabbit and pig, imagine having to cook all that, well you would all be invited to the party.
Losing electricity is not uncommon when it is windy, and when you see the old power lines skipping in the wind you can understand why. God forbid a line does actually come down, it can be left dangling for weeks. The same with the telephone lines and do not get me started on water being turned off.
Sounds as if I am complaining but I will tell you this, it would take a lot more for me not to love this rural life.
Bring on your worst you weather clouds, we can take it, we love life here, we love Mas del Sol, we love South West France... but who does not love the odd bit of complaining ?
