Registering a birth

You have 5 days (compared to 3 before) to register a birth at the Mairie according to the law of November 18, 2016 for the modernisation of justice of the XXI century (article 54).

A decree published in the Official Journal of 4 March 2017 specifies that the day of confinement is not counted within the time limit for registering a birth. In addition, when the last day of the period is a Saturday, a Sunday, a public holiday or a non-working day, this period is extended to the next working day.
