Yesterday our good friend Roger phoned to tell us Monty his dog was off his food and listless, it sounded very much the way Bonny had been a couple of weeks ago. ( is it only a couple of weeks ago, what a lot has happened in those two weeks )
Roger took the dog to the vet at Parisot who confirmed Monty was quite poorly with pyro plasmosis, one of the tick diseases. She had lost a dog from the disease the week before, as had our vet at Laguepie. Monty fortunately is perking up after treatment. We have never known a year like it for ticks and although all are not virulent carriers plenty must be this year.
Donc faites attention / take care to keep up with the tick treatments and brush or stroke your pet, dog, cat or donkey every day. Tick forks available from the vet or chemist are invaluable.
If you have no pets still take heed as the little beggars can get their mouth parts in to you whilst walking in the country and getting them off including their mouth parts is essential as soon as possible.
