Writing to you from England but still can’t stop clicking on TAG on-line every day!
Carolyn should be OK with her Sky box without subscription as all the basic channels are free-to-air anyway (BBC 1,2, ITV, 4, 5, More 4 etc.....)
I don’t know if the Freesat box offers more but we have a non-subscription Sky box in St Antonin which gives all the good channels plus plenty of rubbish.
Just let the subscription run out and carry on watching.
