About Bruce Anderson
I am a painter and have drawn and painted since a young age, and taught since 1999. I work with pretty traditional materials - oil and acrylic, pencil, charcoal, conté crayon, etc. on canvas and/or paper. Typically I go back and forth between pure abstraction/non-representational work and more realistic landscape and figure work. A solid foundation of drawing skill is important to me (for my work), but I try to avoid sticking to any one style personally and prefer to follow my instinct and inspiration. My work is nothing less than a reflection of my minds eye and its take on the world around me. I grew up in Mar Vista California, close to the beach and it's surf culture. In 2010, I moved to the southwest of France to a tiny village named St. Antonin Noble Val. Never have I been so inspired or felt so at home than here in France. It's another world and a chance at another life.
Val says Bruce sneaked in some donkeys for me, so cute.
