The artist will spend Thursday and Friday looking for the elusive needle – pre-inserted into the haystack by museum head Jean de Loisy – at the Palais de Tokyo, a contemporary art gallery in the French capital.
Val says gosh I could be a performance artist. I came in from cutting the string off the bales of straw having dropped the scissors in the middle of the bales (working with one left hand is not easy) I gave up trying to find them and came for another pair... I was so frustrated. Then I read this story and calmed down, just think I could have been searching for a needle... but is it art ?
I did have an audience of panting donkeys.
