2,910 euros raised to help our 17 young men who arrived from Calais with very little. Malc is just working out the accounts.
Tonight we are having a benevoles meeting at Rehoboth to judge how we and they are progressing.
After the 750 euros raised by FET Friends of the English Theatre was spent on kitting out the lads with shoes and clothes, the next biggest expense has been the travel costs, getting to interviews which we are hoping will be refunded.
Do not think the boys are not grateful, they really are. They appreciate not only the donations of money, clothes, lap tops etc. but also our time spent.
Last night after we drove them home near to midnight, they said please come in and drink tea with us.
Then when we said " we are tired and need to get back to let the dogs out" They said " so we see you tomorrow"
Our naps on the sofa afternoon and evening have been severely curtailed and when we have the boys happily on their way, we will have a lot of sleeping to catch up on.
Malc says and gardening.
Hopefully we will get a chance to talk to them before or after the meeting.
