Fighting Daesh

Photo France 2
On a day when news came through of armed attacks and suicide missions in southern Afghanistan and northern Pakistan, the very areas where most of the refugees at Rehoboth are from, it is unusual to hear of a local girl going to Syria to fight against Daesh. Celine is a 25 year old medical student from Toulouse, whose parents are Kurdish and she was appalled that other young Muslim women whom she knew would go to support the repressive and murderous regime.
She realises she is putting her own life at risk, lending her support to local anti-Daesh fighters, many of whom have seen family members killed or forced to flee. Her own family, including four younger brothers, are safe in France and worry about her safety, but she has no plans to return at present.
