One thousand three hundred and seven people read TAG yesterday. One might have suspected our life being dominated for nearly eight months now with the refugees that a significant number of readers might have left us and our humanitarian principles behind. It is encouraging to feel we have support for our caring activities here in our beautiful region.
This indeed shown by the amount of goods brought here and money sent.

I agree that the numbers are strong despite the daily coverage of your work supporting refugees. While I support your work I do not read many of these pieces anymore and only focus on other relevent news regarding French life. I already get news re: refugees in the main stream media.

Many readers although they read mainstream are interested in how our local boys are getting on and these reports are not in the mainstream. It is I believe giving a real insight into the complicated asylum process in France.
Hi VaI and Malcolm,
I am very pleased that readership is very healthy which is due to all topics that are aired, although the refugee updates have dominated the site for some time. I like to believe that all readers have humanitarian principles but many were very surprised when, instead of mainly families with young children being supported, it changed to all able bodied, educated young men. I would certainly like to see your category of only ‘enjoyed’ to be reinstated to two choices to include ‘didn’t enjoy’. I think this would be a more accurate gauge of peoples opinions. My comments do not detract from the tremendous amount of work you have both put in to create this excellent site and also yours and other volunteers work to support refugees.
Regards, Max
Val says We have a bit of a problem at the moment in that I stupidly asked Malc to change a label. Now we only have one label " enjoy"and he does not know how to retrieve the others. If he had an afternoon to fiddle maybe he could do it but fitting in with ones own life is making it difficult.
I would not though give a button do not like ( facebook also decided against this) For me it would be too disheartening to spend precious time write a post to be shot down. We have to work on the basis do not like, do not read.
Rehoboth is only suitable for one sex with its dormitory rooms and wash facilities which is why we have young men. We are gradually learning that some of the young men have families, wives and children and their hope is to gain asylum and then bring family to join them. The reason they are here.. they left rather than being killed by Taliban or Isis. One young asylum seeker now speaks more French after a month than many UK residents living here for years speak. He also already contributes sending photos to a French site St. Antonin - Quercy Rouergue and makes his comments in French.
I think it rather amusing and say when they are French citizens and we are no longer in Europe, will they remember how we helped and treat US kindly when we have no rights. We are THE economic migrants after all lured by cheap housing and better weather.
Malc says Yes when they are legal and we are "the illegals" there's a thought
