Prosperity is out of the window

Are you like us? received lots of greetings cards with wishes for health, peace and love.
I was surprised when I got one wishing us prosperity, such an unlikely thing nowadays and it was sent from a friend who is a multi millionaire so obviously high on his list. I do remember there was more prosperity about in days of yore, but perhaps money is not something one talks about now.
Or perhaps as our friends are now older we all realise that it does not matter how much money you have, if you have not got your health.
The French cards are starting to arrive now for the New Year and they seem to be wishing
"Une bonne et heureuse année, une excellente santé et beaucoup d' amour."   Sounds good to me and somehow sounds better in French.
A reader says
Aside from money, to prosper is also to be successful - in anything, e.g. defeating illness, maybe.
It can also mean to thrive - to grow through being thrifty. Thrive and thrifty come from the same root.
