President Macron will announce his new Premier this morning (Monday 15th). The name most touted is Edouard Philippe, the 46 year old mayor of Le Havre. Philippe is a member of the centre right Les Republicains party, who is thought to be an innovator who has revolutionised his city. On the other hand some commentators criticise his lack of charisma.
Without a majority in the assembly Macron needs to try to try and find all party support so expect also some left wing appointments, but the "elephants" of recent years are likely to be left in the cold.
