A new Unesco "Geopark"

The Causses de Quercy natural park has been designated a "Geopark" by Unesco. There are 119 such parks in the world, distinguished by their particular geological structure, important on a world scale.
The Geopark is designed to help integrate the communities in the area in efforts to preserve the characteristic environment and to develop its tourist potential.
