French TV news notes with (mock?) concern a warning from a British university that haddock and chips could be off the menu in restaurants. Apparently the warming of the North Sea is driving cold water species further afield meaning that stocks are dwindling and therefore prices will rise.
It suggests that chip shops will have to start selling Mediterranean style fish dishes. So will those gatherings of British expats around fish and chip evenings in Les Cabannes etc have to make do with fritto misto, calamari a la plancha et al?
