No not more hens, at the moment, we have kestrel young. Passing under the hole in the wall of the gite where kestrels are flying in and out, I found today a broken eggshell.
On checking the bird books it is the shell of a kestrel. We thought there was so much activity things must be happening. Now we will await seeing little fluffy "Orville" type faces in the opening, probably a couple of weeks time. The nesting is so early this year it is not impossible the birds will have a second brood later.
