une maison de plain pied -  a bungalow
and I have always used this but now I am told the French would never say this (even though you see it in house adverts) They would be more likely to say " avec un seul étage - on one level
A bungalow to the French is a wooden hut, for example on a camp site you might hire a bungalow which would be a wooden hut. There are some on the campsite at Laguepie.
