The first mistake in language came today when the first French visitor arrived Chez Maurice and asked what are those buildings there. I said "ca c'est son garage" The French lady looked shocked and said" il fait le gavage" No, no I said il fait le parking de la voiture la!! How can I make garage sound like gavage? Gavage as we know is stuffing a pipe down the throats of ducks or geese and then pouring maize down to fatten their livers, then foie gras can be made.
Maize is another French word hard to say, I always say " mice" which seems to give the right sound.
