Anyone know anything about the tunnel? and fancy a good meal

Dear Val

After we too had had great fun laughing at Paddington and indeed the children in the audience laughing in sheer delight at it too, we went to La Terrace at Penne for a meal. What a convoluted journey, Along the Causse and then down into the Valley to Cazal and then along the river till we reached the bridge at Penne. The Tunnel between St Antonin and Penne will not reopen before April and it has already been shut for three months. What on earth are they doing, it must be a complete reline at least?

Anyway as four of us sat in solitary splendour we had a wonderful meal round the fire and wondered how our local restaurants manage during the winter month and will this summer produce enough money to enable them to survive another year.

Domy the ever young patron of la Terrace, inspite of the fact she has been there for 37 years, is launching an initiative which I hope TAG readers will support. Every fortnight she is offering a menu d'autrefois. Saturday 7 February it will be barbequed wild boar or more correctly Gigot de Sanglier à la broche (feu de bois). Price 25€ including aperitif. Tel 05 63 56 35 03 to make a reservation.
