First harvest of 2014 for Leila

Dear Val,
I'm so proud of myself for growing purple sprouting here in France!
It's my favourite vegetable and completely unknown by the French, so I decided to plant it and see if I could grow it myself. I planted seeds last May in my veg patch and nearly a year later, the plants have grown tall and are cropping like mad! This success hasn't got much to do with me. I'll freely admit that I've done nothing bar a bit of watering since they were planted. It's more than likely due to the exceptionally mild winter this year. I'm not sure it would cope with the minus 15 degrees we sometimes have in February!
On a completely different subject, can anyone tell me if the snowdrops are still out at the Abbaye de Beaulieu and if the Gardens are open to the public out of season?
Best Wishes x Leila.
