I have just got back from sitting in the school watching the vote being counted in Varen. The place was packed and all the voters of Varen must have been there.
When I left around 9 pm we had a whisper that Andre Massat the former Maire looks set for another term. That is not a definite result but I appeared to be sitting with the " support Serge Gomez" group and the mood after a nod and a wink from Serge, changed from hopeful to miserable.. and when Massat started laughing I knew it was time for me to leave. Voting for the Liberal party in the UK I am used to defeat.
