Seventy years ago C. Werner was a member of the Waffen SS age 19 years old. Now at 79 years old he admits his part in the affair and says each night in his head he hears the terrible cries of those people suffering and being killed, locked in the burning church.
Now I cannot help but feel why did he not years ago come forward to absolve his terrible sin, admit his crime and ask forgiveness of the now long dead.
At 79 nearing his maker, he accepts his fault. I suppose it is better late than never.
