Great day for building yesterday won't be so nice today working in mizzle & strong winds, does the wind ever stop here? We went to the Eritrean area very briefly at the end of the day & gave out sheets to cover walls, the ladies rooted through them at speed the highly patterned ones being the most sought after, there was a black duvet cover that was spurned but the boys were happy with it for their shelter. I was amazed at the difference in temperature between indoors and out that even a sheet of plastic affords, no windchill factor. The shelters looked cosy, great to get mattresses into them, sleeping on pallets must be hell. Some of the volunteers have some funny ideas, apparently building shelters should have "a civilizing influence on "them" " & "tents are fine after all it's what they're used to" I won't write what I think of these people as it would be unprintable. Anyway I must pick up my hammer and saw. Love to all Laura & Sid x
