I wasn't going to get involved in the debate but, please, can we treat people with a little more respect. I take great exception to the posts that refer to "ugly Brits" and "xenophobic twits". We don't all brag about our achievements and some people struggle to learn French but wish they could and still try hard. Please readers don't gratuitously insult people you don't know anything about.
