Emma will be at Montauban with her plants for bees

Dear Val and Malc,
              Saving the Dandelions!!!!!

Doreen and Val you are brilliant. Fantastic to see that people are realizing that in their own way they can help the bees.
At this time of year when not much is in flower and the weather is wet and cold , making it harder for foraging bees, every dandelion has an important role to play! To hear that the Netherlands has banned Roundup is amazing and hopefully other countries will follow the same way. It's not rocket science, remove the chemicals and nature will find her balance again, the bees are just one group that are suffering, what about the butterflies, the solitary bees and all those beautiful little beetles
that are also pollinators, the ones that glitter and shimmer like jewels.
Hearing that neonicotinoids have been banned from 1st January 2106 is obviously excellent news as well, however it still worries me that in the space of this year all the stockpiles of this chemical will just be 'dumped' on to the land without any thought at all or of the farmer who just carries on quietly  using it , as he always has and 'why should he change now?'  Maybe I am just too cynical!!
However, we should all carry on helping our wildlife in our gardens and save those dandelions!
If you are interested in learning more about plants and bugs I will be having a stand on Sunday 5th (tomorrow) at the Château De Piquecos, Montauban. Come and talk plants and bees!
It would be lovely to meet you
Regards
