Whatever I have been busying doing today; walking Bonny, cleaning the car, doing the ironing, those deaths have played on my mind, as I am sure they have with others. The outpouring of grief on social media sites is amazing and it reminds me a little of the outpouring of grief at the death of Princess Diana.
I am so relieved that there appears to be no condemnation of Muslims generally and that we all seem to be accepting that "extremists" are something different.
Wishes that tomorrow will bring a better day with some resolution. I like that 4 French imams visiting the Vatican have signed a statement below
"Without liberty of expression, the world is in danger," it said. "It is imperative to oppose hate and every form of violence which destroys human life, violates people's dignity, (and) radically threatens the fundamental good of peaceful coexistence beyond the differences of nationality, religion and culture," it added.
Imams Tareq Oubrou, Azzedine Gaci, Mohammed Moussaoui and Djelloul Seddiki signed the declaration.
