As dinner guests left last night, we all marveled at the clear night sky, a wondrous sight for us all,'' black as night'' with twinkling stars.
This morning that sky is blue but overnight we have had a mild frost, enough to nip my fingers protruding from my woolly fingerless mittens as I serviced the outside pets needs.
The donkeys hee hawed for an hour this morning as I held the pillow over my ears, needing a little more time in bed.
Last night a guest was trying to persuade Malc we needed a cockerel for our two hens to be truly happy. Well I am beginning to go with Malc on this one, and if Penny and Peck miss a cockerell, so be it. Here is a picture of Penny this morning outside our bedroom door and by gum can she cackle, imagine with hee haws, dogs barking, hens cackling and a cockerel crowing. No, it is unimaginable.
