Another set of pictures for the wild section.

Sangliers 1 - Chasseurs 0
Once again the morning walk was upon us and as it was not as pleasant as Friday'' sunshine, so we took raincoats and wellies. We are always out and about come rain or shine. Well, if we did not have a dog we would probably hibernate until spring. As it is a weekend, the hunters are out in the woods whooping and a hollering with the intent of disturbing the local wildlife. Today, rather than the usual hare or deer running past, we saw a wild boar and it was trotting towards us, it had obviously out-manoeuvred "la chasse".
This is the first wild boar we have seen here. It was big, hairy with a wild look in its eyes and it was aiming straight for us. We did not consider whether it was going pose a danger to us as we were well hidden behind a hedge, we were more concerned about getting a picture. It approached us and I took a photograph as it passed by. We waited a short while to see if there was going to be any other activity but all we saw was a lone hunting dog following the scent with the hunter nowhere to be seen.
Later in the day we were at "La Pépinières" discussing plants, specifically shrubs and a friend of the owner turned up with a truffle. We all had a sniff, quite pungent I thought. I mentioned the Sanglier that we saw this morning as they are adept at finding and digging up truffles. The owner related that one year he had 14 Sangliers so that took the wind right out of my sails.
