Remember those elephants, they never did have tuberculosis

Princess Stephanie founded the Baby and Nepal Association last July and continues to care for the elephants.
The exhibition includes 40 images and is being held at the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco until Sunday 9th February. Photographs taken personally by Princess Stephanie are on show along those from Frederic Nebinger, a professional photographer who has followed the elephants’ adventure since they left the zoo Tête d’Or in Lyon.
The elephants belonged to the Pinder Circus for 14 years before being rescued by Princess Stephanie. The troubles for the two began in September 2010 when blood tests showed suspected tuberculosis. The 40-year-old pachyderms’ future was clouded when the State council suspended an execution order in February 2013.
The elephants now live in a 3,500sqm enclosure at the Grimaldi family ranch in Roc Agel and enjoy a wood shelter and pool. They were first welcomed by Princess Stephanie in 2013.  After arrival, they were serologically tested according to protocols established by the French health authorities and the results came back negative. In October they were tested once again and the results were also negative.
The Baby and Nepal Association is accepting donations to help support the elephants. They can be made by credit card, cheque or transfer. Visit the website for details: association-baby-nepal.com.
