Charming interlude at the Piano school

Last night we spent a charming hour from 6 to 7 pm listening to Chopin piano pieces, along with the Carrere family of Arnac. The downstairs of the village house has been made into a very smart music room with two grand pianos and an organ. Every Sunday Jean Paul wants to energize the area with music. We went along with a group of friends and the French of the village also came out in force. The families five children under seven sat quietly on the floor around the piano with other little friends, not a peep out of them, just little rapturous faces.
Jean Paul  invited us to chose from a Chopin music book which piece we wanted playing, I think to prove how his wife Anne Claire could play anything.  Anne Claire wore a long elegant dress as did the older two girls, dressed for the occasion. At the end the eldest girl totally impromptu came to our English group and started showing us card tricks. The little children came round offering sweets and crisps.
What a charming family and the charm rubbed off on us.
These piano concerts are every Sunday throughout the year.
