A thorny subject for the chums

A few days ago Malc had been out cutting back brambles and then thrown them on a garden rubbish pile. Today we spotted the donkeys who had found the pile in the edge of their field... all munching the  brambles. We have a whole wood full of brambles, so not sure what is so special about these.
A follow on to this story... Malc has just met a Frenchman from Varen who walked past the chums yesterday and saw them eating the brambles. He went off to tell his elderly Mum who sent him back up here today with a baguette to feed them! Do they look starving?
