One cannot imagine that would go down well!

France's most famous butcher, Yves-Marie Le Bourdonnec, has infuriated his peers by claiming British beef is the best in the world in a new documentary It is a controversy one critic has likened to "Asterix siding with the Romans", putting under threat a pillar of Gallic culinary pride.

A feature-length documentary in French cinemas has claimed that British beef is the best in the world, and that the only way to save French cows is for them to sleep with the enemy.
