New flood warning work in Varen

For most of this week workmen have been digging a trench down to the Moulin de Varen on the Aveyron. Apparently there will be a radio link to the environment department which will be triggered by the water mounting a pneumatic tube with the pressure readings giving a warning when a threshold is reached. We understand that a the system will be tested on December 10th ( a dry run??). Passing by this morning Malc photographed a more low tech version.
