Brilliant day, walking and gardening.

So much achieved in the garden today. The manure piled up under a black cover for a year has made the most crumbly peat mixture,  looks great and we have both been barrowing  it around the garden. Penny the hen has had a wonderful afternoon scratting through the manure dumped to find the worms. When we got too tired we started sweeping up the leaves, an easier job and the courtyard looks much neater now. In the leaves we found a dead rat and a large mouse proving the cats are earning their keep.  Fitted in time to walk Bonny down the road and have a chat to the neighbours.  All the time the sun was shining and the sky remained blue till the sun started setting about 5 .45pm, when the sky turned red we came in and collapsed.
We did have a laugh when Malc was away with one of the barrows awhile. He returned with arms scratched to tell me he had fallen over into a blackberry bush and just could not get out. " Why did you not shout me? " I said. " What, and have you arrive with the camera to take a picture for TAG!"
Silly boy, would I do that?
It is the simple pleasures in life which make me and the lad happy, surrounded by all the pets we have passed a super day.  Hope you have enjoyed the sun and however you spent the day had as much fun as we had.
