Quentin Blake has a second home in France and in November writes in the Connexion

Sir Quentin tells the Connexion that he picked La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, because he was drawn to the landscape by its “flat country and marshes.”
He has had his second home for twenty years and still works between London and Charente - Maritime.
As booksellers Malc and I had opportunity to see and admire much of Quentin Blake's work relating to book illustrations. His original work  came up at Sotheby's and Christies from time to time and was sold often by Chris Beetles gallery in London.  We bought a piece at auction which we still have and love.
We will look forward to reading the November edition of the Connexion.
