The streets that are so quiet and calm through the day are sometimes totally different on a night. A situation which has been getting progressively worse with gangs of youngsters sometimes wth hoods, masks and carrying baseball bats hanging around looking for trouble. There are often fights with the gendarmes being called and residents in the town say they are frightened to go in the streets at night and feel trapped in their houses and flats. Worth thinking about being careful in the evening if in Villefranche.
