I got back from a Fifi committee meeting in St. Antonin,. Malc was just going out to bridge and I had to straight away go to check the girls were still in their field.''Oh, joy'' they were. As Malc and I spent the morning redoing yet another bit of fencing / cloture he did say to me ''these are your blinking donkeys. '' Actually it was said in not such polite terms and he has been saying it on and off for nearly 6 years, ever since the day we got them. We went with a local farmer and his horse/ cow van to pick them up. Malc was there with his camera to record the first pictures of our girls coming to us. The man selling the donkeys and the farmer were manhandling the little kicking darlings in to the van with me standing well out of the way. Not sure which donkey it was in all the excitement but which ever it was made a dash for freedom running straight in to Malc, knocking him off his feet, then he was trampled over by the guys clinging on for grim death to a cavorting beast.
As we followed behind the van in the car Malc said 'are we doing the right thing here?'' I could not reply as I was thinking the very same thing myself. So I cannot honestly say we have never regretted one day of having them, we have probably regretted many as we chase them down the lane.! At the moment you are just getting the downsides, when I am out there cuddling, and they do cuddle on a morning you could not get much better pets.[ Malc says that is because they are all as bad as each other, but he does not mean it] In fact I
