The fusion of the regions

The government has passed a law to reduce the number of regions from 20 to 13, that would see the fusion of Midi Pyrenees and Languedoc Roussillon.
Nicolas Sarkozy has said if he comes back to power he would reverse it.
Val says  Funnily enough Malc and I would have preferred to go with Aquitaine but looking at the map perhaps it is also logical to join Languedoc Roussillon. 
What will the new region be called?  Malc thinks as Midi Pyrenees has no historical equivalent, it might be that Languedoc wins through. 
I would miss Midi Pyrenees.
