Well it was Michael Pennington at the Colombier theatre at Les Cabannes, but he is so knowledgeable on William Shakespeare that in many instances in the show one was transported back to the turn of the 16th century and at times one felt to be with the man himself. A mesmerising show which we and everyone there we knew really enjoyed. I did smile at a quote from the Guardian on the programme about Michael, " a magnificent classical actor in his prime" and did wonder how many years ago the quote was written. Although not to detract from an excellent performance given and I am sure Michael will go on in his prime for many years.
It is always a lovely evening going to the theatre, getting dressed up, meeting friends, chatting all part of the evenings performance. I met Jane and daughter artist Silver and I am crossing fingers for good news about little Jude, the dog Jane has hand reared. A lovely gentleman told me he has some raspberry canes for me which I am so excited about. I have a plan to develop the soft fruits area in the potager next year. Another reader had a signed book to sell on TAG which she kindly gave me. I felt like a buzzy bee in the interval, catching up with friends.
Can you beat a night like that finished off at home with Montalbano on the big screen.
