Another Minister resigns

Kader Arif, the Minister for Former Combatants, has resigned in the face of an enquiry into whether he used his influence with the Midi Pyrenees regional council to get a contract for a firm owned by his brother. The enquiry is at a preliminary stage following allegations from members of the council's opposition. Arif is a close associate of President Hollande and Martin Malvy the regional president.
Malvy said that the charges are politically motivated and Arif  denounced the "insinuations"
