Folk'n'Jazz

Well the weather seems to have decided summer is over but not so for Folk'n'jazz - we are continuing our "summer" tour this month on Thursday  26th of September returning to The Vigerie St. Vincent de Varen  the home of Iga and Jeremy Rewse Davies. Last year the beautiful courtyard made a lovely setting on a warm summer's evening but there is also an undercover space now that the weather has turned autumnal.
This month, for one night only,  we are pleased to be able to feature a special guest performer visiting from England. John Stannard was the founder member of a successful folk group Tudor Lodge in the 70's. Recently his music has taken a different direction and he plays blues based music singing  his own songs and has recently released an album "the Doob Doo Album". From the clips I have seen on u tube it should be quite a treat for blues fans. There will of course be plenty of other musical offerings from the regulars and newcomers ensuring an entertaining  and varied evening. New performers are, as always, welcome and anyone wishing to perform should contact Linda Hatfield, the compere for the evening, at folkjazz82@outlook.com in advance of the evening.

The evening will  start at It will start at 8pm but you need to arrive earlier to get seated and as always you will need to bring your own chairs and a bottle and glasses.

Directions to The Vigerie:
Passing through Varen head towards Laguepie, turn left on to the D106 Najac road. Follow the road to the small church of St. Vincent and opposite this is a small chateau with  a large grass parking area. Park here and walk up a small road opposite to another chateau The Vigerie.

Those people performing with instruments or people with walking difficulties  can take their cars up the small road to the chateau.. As parking area is small near the Vigerie if you are driving up please give a lift to others carrying chairs ,please do not drive up with two in the car and space.

Breaking news:
After a return visit to the chateau in Parisot on 31st October, folk'n'jazz will be opening a winter season at the salles de Fetes in Verfeil , starting with an evening which will include English and French traditional dancing - watch this space for more details!

Val says Really good news that John is coming to play. We have just recently bought his CD which is great. We have happy memories of him  playing at our house on New Years Eve many years ago, he is super foot tappingly good.
