Nous sommes le jeudi dix neuf novembre

Last night the opera Puccini 's Manon Lescaut was a great success, to a full house an erotic interpretation from  The Royal Opera House last year had Kristine Opolais and Jonas Kauffmann singing beautifully whilst we were holding our breaths. Sadly Manon died again but I missed the last act.
Everyone was settled in their seats when I crept out to a meeting about refugees up at Rehoboth.
Thank you to everyone who came and paid 10 euros to go to Via Sahel Enfants d'Afrique.

Hi Val and Malcolm
Thank you both so much for another wonderful operatic evening. We enjoyed the production if somewhat distracted by the erotica! Some of the sets did not seem to work with the story but I guess ones imagination had to work also!Never the less,a very pleasing experience.
We are of to UK 16th Dec, when is your next Opera evening?
Also, remember we talked about you showing our copy of 'Carmen Jones' at some point? We have the Otto Preminger film of the Bizet Opera with Harry Belafonte and Dorothy Dandridge, it might be an alternative to show if you need a fill in.

Good morning Val
Phew quite an Opera. The erotica was very cleverly acted once over the initial surprise. Perhaps it was meant to shock us?
I did have a good cry at the end which is a sign of a good opera.
Love
