We need to raise 200 euros ( and we have)

John and Joan care about animals. Their French neighbour had an elderly dog that lived outside. It constantly had pups, which were then routinely drowned. In the last few weeks the dog which was often hanging round their house looked very ill. The French neighbours would not do anything. After a while they could bear it no longer so took the dog to local well known vet. The dog was found to have puppies in the womb, all of which had died and the dog had septicemia and gangrene. The womb was cleaned and the dog put on a drip. The neighbours were told and at first denied it was their dog. Then the following day they changed their mind and asked for the dog back. The lady vet refused saying the dog's life was in danger and they made it clear they would not pay fees. They said as the dog was not chipped they had no responsibility for it.
The dog was so ill that by then the only kind option was to put it to sleep.
The bills for the care and medicines of the dog came to 1,000 euros but the vet decided to half her bill just to cover costs... but the bill has landed up in the hands of the kind elderly couple.
Friends have rallied round and come up with 300 euros so I am determined we will find the extra 200.
Malc and I both feel that kindness like this should be rewarded not penalised.
If your  advert is due for renewal I now want you to make the cheque payable to the vet. Please contact me  for the vet's name.
Also if you are touched by this story like Malc and I and wish to give a donation, once again contact me for the name of the vet for your cheque. It would not take too many small donations to cover this amount.
