Dear Val and Malcolm,
I was going to post this later in the year but as the fox seems a hot topic.........
The story behind this:
We were out specifically to take pictures of Great Spotted woodpeckers, as at this particular time of theyear, late spring they were feeding their young. So making use of the natural surroundings to hide the tripod and camera, it was possible to capture them arriving and leaving their nest.
Well after a while we packed up and left and were walking back to the car, camera switched off, dangling from my shoulder and the tripod in the one hand. What happened next can only be described as remarkable, a fox appeared, plain as you like right in front of us not 5 metres away. Louise grabbed Lottie's collar, I dropped the tripod and swizzled the camera into position only to find that the fox, quite rightly has wandered off. But not that far, or in fact that quickly, suddenly the foxes ears pricked up and it turned sideways, I knew it was about to leap, it did, did the camera catch it?
