dear Val,
Have just spent a lovely afternoon in the polytunnel, pottering (very important job!) and also potting up and coaxing the 'babies' to grow whilst dreaming of spring, I know it's only around the corner but the rain was bucketing down and everything was grey. Anyway am now in the warmth surrounded by the cats and dog all fighting for a place in front of the woodburner and read your blog about the 'Salon d'Ete' gardening show. Please can you tell me more as I don't know this show at all.Last year Emma we organised a Salon D' Ete which was a gardening show in Varen just like the ones in the UK.
We held it in the salle des fetes at Varen and the Mayor was very encouraging. There were prizes for all the different categories plants and vegetables, we included jams and cakes and then needlework and handicrafts.
We were hoping to have the " deuxieme " this year but I now may be on Grandparent duty.
There are plenty of helpers but a dynamic leader who has some gardening knowledge is needed. The local market gardeners were very helpful last year and Terri Tippett was brilliant bringing trailers full of plants to decorate the hall. They were also all judges.
We need a leader.
