We did not know that at the time but when the seller moved her furniture out, we asked when the cats would go, to discover they would not. " Tant pis pour eux" was the owner's answer when I asked about the cats. Even I, biggest pet lover ever was overfaced with the thought of 12 cats, none sterilised or castrated. When we moved in with the dogs, all but four decided it was not for them and disappeared into the countryside. The four that were left became our pets and were duly sorted with their medical needs, two living in the house, two not so tame living and being fed in the barn. Cats in the countryside are practically a must, to control rats, mice and snakes, so if you are presented with a cat, or twelve buy a bag of croquettes and have it or them sterilised.
